The St. Mary’s Children’s Day Treatment (CDT) program is a school based behavioral health program located within the Gloversville Middle School.
The program serves students who:
- Are currently in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade
- Have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for special education services
- Have a qualifying mental health diagnosis
- Have Medicaid as their insurance.
Our students are working on (or close to) grade level, but they need additional support in order to be successful in a school setting. The program has (2) 8-1-1 classrooms. The team is comprised of:
- Licensed Mental Health Therapist
- Behavioral Specialist
- School Counselor
- Licensed Psychiatric Prescriber.
All students receive individual therapy at least once a week and group therapy every other day. In addition, students receive behavioral support, crisis management, and family therapy as needed. For students who are in need of psychiatric medication management, the program has a prescriber who works with students and their families once a month.
While the program is in the Gloversville School District, CDT accepts referrals throughout Fulton and Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Referrals come from the student’s home district Committee for Special Education Services (CSE). Once referred, the team will schedule an intake to meet with the student and family, so a joint decision can be made to determine if the program is the right fit to meet the needs of the student.
